The 2019-nCoV was detected in China in late 2019. Likely source is a bat. DNA testing is being done to confirm. Symptoms range from
Mild upper respiratory illness (URI) with fever and cough
Severe – difficulty breathing and the most of severe…death
The scary part is it can take up to 14 days after exposure for symptoms to show up. So you can monitor traveler’s symptoms and temperature all you want but they may not have either yet…….
What can you do to protect yourself:
Basic: handwashing, cough into a sleeve, do not touch door handles with a bare hand, avoid touching your mouth, nose or eyes, avoid large crowds, and wear a mask if susceptible.
Diet: Anti-inflammatory to consist of a lot of veggies, chicken, fish and turkey, nuts, coconut oil Stay away from sugar as sugar depresses the immune system within 30 minutes of consumption and can keep it depressed for 5 hours.
Humidifier: higher air humidity reduces virus survival.
Herbs: we use a herbal respiratory formula that my patients call “Dr. Bye’s miracle respiratory formula”. It is a combination of 13 herbs that I have used for almost 20 years. 60 drops at the first sign of a URI. This usually nips it in the bud. If you already have the URI you take 60 drops 4 times per day. I also use 60 drops for every airline flight I take (you are in a metal tube recirculating everyone’s germs). It is pretty nasty tasting, but what is that saying, “what does not kill you makes you stronger.”
Vit C: Dr. Bye uses a rose hips syrup. It is the most bio-available source of Vit C other than intravenous. This actually tastes good and you can put it in coffee or tea.
Homeopathic Remedy: We use a homeopathic flu remedy. You take the pellets under tongue the first sign of the flu (it does not work if you already have it.
